About Jamestown

Jamestown is a major rural service centre with 1,561 residents. Located in the heart of some of South Australia’s most productive agricultural land, Jamestown’s major industries are wool, cereal crops, and timber from Bundaleer Forest. The town is home to many progressive, community-minded citizens, and has hotels, schools, boutique shops, sports clubs, a gym, library, and supermarket. Its main tree-lined street is so wide that the central area is a park.
