About Laura

Laura is a pretty town on the banks of the Rocky River in the southern Flinders Ranges, and is the home of Golden North Ice Cream. With a population of 658 people, Laura is a service town for the surrounding rural area, with cottage crafts, antiques, and tourism also playing an important role in the local community. There are a number of amenities in Laura, including a supermarket, pub, sports clubs, post office, cafes, and Art Gallery, and many recreational activities for the whole family to enjoy. The town is also located just a short 30-minute drive to Port Pirie, a major regional centre.
