Australian Red Cross: Adelaide Iron Symposium.

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service, in collaboration with the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, invites you to attend the 2017 Adelaide Iron Symposium, on Saturday, 3 June 2017 at The Science Exchange.

Aimed at general practitioners, obstetric registrars, midwives and nurses, the symposium will provide participants with tools to assist when:

  • identifying patients with iron deficiency and anaemia and determining underlying pathology
  • interpreting laboratory investigations to diagnose iron deficiency and anaemia
  • applying the principles of prescribing and administering iron therapy in practice with a focus on patient blood management, and
  • incorporating the use of practical tools such as algorithms for anaemia and patient handouts to guide treatment for iron deficiency and anaemia.

The symposium is equivalent to 5.5 hours of CPD points and is at a cost of $40.00 (excluding GST). Catering is provided.
