Doing the Diabetes Limbo: how low can you go?

Facilitator: A/Prof Stephen Stranks

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Interpret laboratory tests used to screen for, diagnose, monitor diabetes and understand test limitations.
  • Outline the differences between diabetes sub-types, including possible clues to monogenic diabetes.
  • Use appropriate glucose-lowering therapies to modify cardiovascular and renal risk.
  • Assess when and how remission of type 2 diabetes can be achieved.

This event is for GPs , GP Registrars and other Primary Health Care Professionals and has been allocated two (2) core Professional Development Program (PDP) points with ACRRM and four (4) CPD Program points with RACGP for the 2020 – 2022 triennium.
