GPEx Webinar: Iron Deficiency, Therapy and Infusions.

The incidence of iron deficiency is on the rise in Australia – the GPs role is central to managing this health issue.  Managing iron deficiency should be a part of routine clinical care for every GP.

In this webinar we will cover:

  • diagnosis
  • pathology tests
  • use of oral iron and;
  • the ins and outs of iron infusions in the community setting.

Presented by Senior Medical Educator Dr Daniel Byrne and facilitated by Senior Medical Educator Dr Simon Hay, this webinar is aimed at senior registrars soon moving into practice as a registered GP.

About the Presenter

Dr Daniel Byrne is a Senior Medical Educator at GPEx. He is also the Chair of the RACGP SA&NT Board and Chair of RACGP Specific Interests. He was elected to the RACGP Council in October 2014. He is a partner at Chandlers Hill Surgery. Teaching is Dr Byrne’s number one passion.
