Management of Chronic Kidney Disease in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Patients

Facilitators: Assoc. Professor Jeffrey Barbara and Devinia Binell

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of early detection and management of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
  • Demonstrate the ability to stage CKD and assess complications
  • Define the goals for best management of CKD in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to delay progression and prevent complications
  • Identify the requirements for a practice base system to screen for CKD in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and other high-risk patients

This event is for GPs, GP Registrars, Nurses and other Primary Health Care Professionals and will be accredited with ACRRM and RACGP for the 2020 – 2022 triennium.
