Changes to the NTCER base rates of pay for registrars
As the Commonwealth Department of Health has announced that the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) is indexed, from 1 July 2020, at the rate of 1.5 per cent, The National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of Registrars (NTCER) clause 11.1 is activated stating the new base rates of pay “will become applicable in the training term immediately following the MBS increase”.
All GP registrars receiving the base rate should check to ensure their rates are in line with the NTCER. This is effective in South Australia from Term 2 which starts on the 3rd of August.
