Registrar Orientation 2020.1 – Helen O’Malley, Manager AGPT

On the 3rd and 4th of February, GPEx welcomed 84 GP registrars going into community general practice training for the first time. Over the two days, the registrars were orientated to the start of general practice training with GPEx through a series of workshops and interactive sessions. These covered a range of topics about consulting and working in general practice, as well as the assessment and education components of the GPEx program.

The workshops also gave the registrars an opportunity to interact with their regional workshop groups and meet the medical educators and GPEx staff who will guide them through their first year of general practice training.

An informal dinner held at the end of the first day was well received, with registrars keen to continue their discussions over good food and music provided by Lam Bros. Disc Jockeying (aka GPEx’s own Medical Educator, Dr David Lam).

We wish the registrars all the best as they commence their general practice training journey.
