GPEx has partnered with SA Health to conduct a comprehensive study aimed at evaluating the impact of the newly launched Palliative Care Connect service on primary care in South Australia. This service offers vital information and links to palliative care and bereavement supports tailored for General Practitioners, Practice Nurses, as well as patients, carers, and family members. The research initiative focuses on understanding how these services influence primary health professionals, identifies potential economic benefits, enhances patient and caregiver outcomes, and measures overall satisfaction with the service.

In alignment with this initiative, GPEx has developed the Palliative Care Education Program catering to GPs, GP Registrars, Nurses, and other Primary Care providers engaged with palliative care patients. The program offers a variety of activities, enabling participants to customise their learning experiences based on individual needs, thereby strengthening their professional skills and support capabilities in palliative care.
