Last month GPEx delivered mental health education in Brisbane in partnership with Psych Scene to a sold-out audience of 60 GPs.

The full-day GP Mental Health Skills Training (GP MHST) Masterclass was delivered by leading psychiatry trainer and Psych Scene founder Dr Sanil Rege, with guest psychiatrist Dr Jon-Paul Koo, Director of the Toowong Specialist Clinic.

The event was highly acclaimed by participants. “It was one of the most helpful and informative CPD events I have done in a long time,” wrote one attendee in their post-event evaluation, while others attested to how valuable the learning had been and deemed both presenters highly knowledgeable and engaging.

The masterclass focussed on giving GPs the skills to diagnose and treat mental disorders efficiently, using the latest evidence-based approaches. In the afternoon, various case studies were presented for discussion to cement learning and enhance real-life skills.

GPEx announced our partnership with Psych Scene in January of this year, launching both Mental Health Skills Training and a fully online 26-hour Focussed Psychological Strategies course.

Additional MHST masterclasses are scheduled to be held over the remainder of the year in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth.

This event was sponsored by Lundbeck, with education content independently determined by GPEx and Psych Scene.
