Member Update: Time for a Change.
Dear Member,
As you would be aware, primary care has been facing significant changes and challenges in the recent years. Your organisation – GP Partners Australia has survived through these challenging times. Our survival has been due to many factors which include a very agile and professional board, mergers with like groups such as Health First, and delivering some very good Shared Care programs (Palliative, Mental Health and Obstetrics) for the State.
As a member you are effectively an owner of this organisation. We exist to serve our members as a not for profit organisation. Your continued support of our Shared Care programs is appreciated by all those who work within them. Thank you.
As we look to the future and the challenges ahead, we know that in order to stay relevant and valuable,we need to change too.
Since joining GP Partners as CEO early this year, the Board and I have been working to plot a new course and sustainable direction for the Organisation. Part of that course includes revamping and improving our Shared Care programs. Over the coming months you’ll see some changes that should make these programs more useful and customer focused.
In addition we are taking a very bold step and creating a new business – GPAccelerate. This will be an organisation to invest in and assist start-up companies in the primary health space. We believe that with you, our members, we can make a positive difference both to consumer health by delivering health innovation to market faster.
The State Government and Federal Government have both been very supportive of the initiative. It represents a significant step for us to become leaders in primary health innovation.
There will be many ways for you to benefit and participate in this initiative.
In the meantime we’ve adopted a fresh look and in time we’ll start on some broader initiatives which will include investing in our members well being.
I welcome your thoughts, input and participation as we move forward in a new strategic direction. A special thanks to all our clinicians, advisors, committee members on all our programs. Again, a thanks to all of our members for their support and I trust our new initiatives will make a difference.
Once again, feel free to get in touch. Your board members are also open to hearing from you and helping take GP Partners Australia into a leading position with innovation and primary care.
Cheers
Anthony Francis
