gpex @ Social Impact Summit 2026

gpex heralds new chapter on national stage at Social Impact Summit 2026 in Sydney

gpex will use its Gold Sponsorship and presentation at the Social Impact Summit (SIS) in Sydney this July to signal a new chapter for the organisation, as it prepares to unveil a refreshed brand and a sharper national focus as a national education partner for purpose-led organisations.

For CEO Beth McKenzie, the decision to sponsor SIS is not a marketing opportunity. It reflects a deliberate shift in how gpex wants to be known: not only for its history in general practice training, but for its ability to help organisations turn knowledge into practical, measurable education that can improve health and wellbeing outcomes.

The Social Impact Summit, held in Sydney on 1 and 2 July 2026, brings together leaders from the social, corporate and government sectors to explore how organisations can create meaningful impact across systems, communities, and segments. Its 2026 theme, Clarity, aligns with gpex’s own evolution: a clearer narrative, a clearer market position and a clearer role in helping partners make knowledge matter.

“I care to know why, not just the what,” Beth says, reflecting on the curiosity that has shaped her leadership approach. That mindset has guided her first year as CEO, as she has worked with the Board to refine gpex’s direction and define what the organisation is, and just as importantly, what it is not.

gpex’s Gold Sponsorship marks a first for the organisation. Historically, gpex has attended health sector conferences, connecting with audiences already familiar with its legacy as an Australian General Practice Training education provider. SIS offers a different kind of audience: not-for-profits, NGOs, government agencies and purpose-led organisations seeking practical ways to build capability, share knowledge and deliver impact.

“Going to health conferences is often preaching to people who knew the old gpex,” Beth says. gpex also needs to be known to “people who have a problem we can solve – who can come to us and say, ‘We want to get this knowledge out. How can you help us do it?’”

That problem – the challenge of translating expertise into accessible, accredited, and effective education – is where Beth sees gpex’s strongest opportunity. Many organisations working in social impact, community wellbeing and health-adjacent sectors are deeply mission-driven but may not have the systems, educational design capability or accreditation pathways needed to turn their knowledge into practical learning for frontline audiences.

“The clarity around who we are – being that turnkey solution between those that want to get the knowledge out and us doing it – was really clear,” Beth says.

gpex will present at the SIS alongside ReturnToWorkSA, sharing practical insights and case studies in a session focused on bridging the gap between health and wellbeing initiatives through effective frontline access to knowledge. For gpex, the session is a tangible example of its evolving role: helping partners move from intent to implementation by designing education that reaches the right people in the right way.

The timing is significant. gpex’s presence at SIS coincides with the unveiling of a rebrand and a refreshed strategic focus that positions the organisation as a national strategic education partner. The new direction builds on gpex’s health education heritage while broadening its relevance to government, not-for-profit and NGO partners seeking credible, scalable and purpose-led education solutions.

“For us to establish a sustainable organisation post our AGPT grant funding and remain strongly in the for-purpose sector we needed to understand who our key audiences are,” Beth says. “This is, where we need to be. These organisations may not know who we are yet, and we want to know when they have a need, or are looking for partnership collaboration, they think of us.”

Beth describes the Social Impact Summit as “an extraordinary opportunity” to showcase the gpex capability. It is also a natural extension of the organisation’s purpose: helping make knowledge useful, accessible and impactful.

“I’d love gpex to be the premier organisation that provides that bridge for not-for-profits into health education,” Beth says. “How do we improve health and wellbeing? There are so many platform and passion organisations, and for us to be the ideal partner to support those important collaboration spaces… I want us to do it exceptionally well.”

As gpex prepares to take the stage in Sydney, the sponsorship signals confidence in a new chapter: one where the organisation’s history in primary health education becomes the foundation for broader national impact.

“It’s the impactful, value-add change that I really love,” Beth says.
