About this Program

Psychosocial hazards are anything in the workplace that has the potential to cause psychological harm (it may also cause physical harm). Examples range from high workloads, poor role clarity or exposure to bullying and harassment. These hazards if left unaddressed, can have a significant impact on worker’s health and safety, as well as business productivity.

Addressing psychosocial hazards and risks doesn’t just happen by chance. Workplaces need to take a proactive approach to address these issues.

This module aims to provide you with an understanding of the common types of psychosocial hazards found within workplaces and how the risk management process can help your business to eliminate or minimise these risks (so far as is reasonably practicable). The module will also provide a range of free tools and resources for workplaces to take action with the ultimate goal of preventing psychological harm and creating a safe and healthy workplace.

Developed by ReturnToWorkSA and SafeWork SA, this 1 hour module has been created primarily for managers, business owners, WHS and HR personnel, Health and Safety Representatives or any other leader wanting to address psychosocial hazards and risks within the workplace.
