About this Program

Dr CCE is designed to get you exam ready and achieve CCE success.

The small group mock exam is a simulated exam which will provide you with individualised feedback on your performance and approach from our experienced Medical Educators. The additional CCE webinar series gives you the opportunity to step through six additional CCE cases with recordings also available.

You will also receive access to a selection of online exam preparation resources, including CCE practice cases, exam preparation tips, information about non-clinical topics essential for CCE success, and a reference library arranged by clinical topics.

If you have already completed a previous round of this program, you are welcome to re-enrol again, however, the content of the course will be very similar.


Program Content

Small Group Mock Exam

The small group mock exam includes 4 CCE cases over 2.5 hours. Delivered via Zoom, you will be the exam candidate for at least one case and observe the other members of your group for the remaining cases. Actors will be provided to role play cases, with individual feedback on your performance and approach provided by Medical Educators.

Maximising your reading time, managing your own time in clinical encounters, understanding your task list, demonstrating professionalism by taking ownership, utilising non-judgemental communication skills, research abstract interpretation, demonstrate critical appraisal skills, explaining research findings in patient friendly language, demonstrating active listening, targeted history taking, breaking bad news, awareness patient confidentiality, demonstrating a rational approach to ordering investigations, multi-disciplinary team-based management plans, pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment recommendations, evidence based pharmacological prescribing, identifying short and longer term management priorities, negotiating a patient centred management plan, managing carer fatigue, demonstrate sound knowledge of common palliative care and women’s health issues.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, approach to a paediatric patient, 715 health assessments, taking a comprehensive patient history, conducting a systems review, describing a physical examination in a case-based discussion, ECG interpretation, explaining differential diagnosis in patient friendly language, managing uncertainty, formulating safe management plans with appropriate safety netting.

The adolescent patient, conducting a HEADSSS screen, taking a mental health history, approach to sensitively asking about sexual history, patient confidentiality and its limitations, demonstrating professional behaviour, establishing the patients agenda, building rapport with patients, outlining specific history and examination steps to an examiner in a case-based discussion, balancing patient independence with the safety of the community, providing care to older people, managing common concerns in the setting of cognitive impairment, providing a structured and comprehensive management plan, demonstrate your ability to provide effective explanations to the patient in a case-based discussion, demonstrate sound clinical knowledge of a common General Practice dermatological presentation.

Our CCE practice cases have been tailored for practicing with your study partner/group. Each case includes separate documents for the candidate and the examiner, questions to ask the candidate, role player information, and a competency marking grid tailored to the case.
